Mike Steele, Star Tribune - April 16th, 1994
"Love and sadness intertwine. A blending of two people suddenly turns competitive, then menacing, then sweet. A lamentation turns into ecstasy, then disgust, then mournful meditation."
"Klein's dances tend to be athletic bursts of movement shooting out of sculptural friezes."

Sharon McDaniel, The Palm Beach Post - November 5th, 2001
"History is in three large sections, each representing a decade - the 30's, 50's, and 70's. Each features its own familiar recorded music and everyday dress styles. Through seven fictional characters, four decades of West Palm Beach's development unfolds. Nine historic photos projected onto a backdrop set the mood. And History is propelled by Klein's newest dance steps.
With impressive control and unflagging stamina, the dancers gave a totally committed performance. Klein, as usual, gives them some dance combinations that take your breath away."

"Klein, 35, has been awarded a $31,000 Guggenheim fellowship, making him one of 168 artists and scholars chosen this year from a nationwide pool of more than 3,000 applicants. He is the first Palm Beach County resident to receive the honor in six years.
'Honestly I didn't expect to get it,' said Klein, whose local modern dance company enjoys an international reputation. 'It was one of those things I applied for and said maybe, maybe not.'"

Jordan Levin, The Miami Herald - May 29th, 2000
"In Klein's Halos in Reverse, the closing piece, that energy became a frantic mish-mosh of seven dancers moving to cheesily pounding synthesizer music by John and Bill Storch. The crowd loved it.
As both companies took repeated bows, Baryshnikov waved, acknowledging the people who might have come for a spectacle, but stayed for the dancing."

Charles Passy, The Palm Beach Post - May 29th, 2000
"Although Klein's dancers can't compete in terms of athleticism and grace with Baryshnikov's -- wouldn't you love it if the companies could switch places for a week? -- they understand the varying qualities of his work. Klein brought out three of his best pieces -- the genteel male quartet Sokol/Falcon, the fast and furious second section of Halos in Reverse and his own sensual solo, L'Apres-midi d'un Faune.
The applause that greeted the troupe was almost as loud as for White Oak -- and it was every bit deserved."

Charles Passy, The Palm Beach Post - November 16th, 1997
"He does what he does out of a genuine passion for helping others understand modern dance. He figures if a guy from a working class family in suburban Cincinnati could figure it out, so could a few folks from Lake Worth."

Charles Passy, The Palm Beach Post - January 30th, 2000
"...it's Klein's presence that takes the show to another level. Although not an actor, he brings an almost Chaplin-like sweet intensity to the role: He's the embodiment of charm..."
